From a Bold Idea to a Brighter Smile
Seven years ago, we had a wild idea: to make brushing easier, smarter, and more effective for everyone.
Today, we’re celebrating not just our anniversary, but the incredible community that helped us get here.
From that first prototype to 30,000+ reviews, five clinical trials, and earning the ADA Seal of Acceptance, our journey has been driven by one thing: innovation that puts people first.
Innovation Isn’t Pretty, But It’s Worth It
Innovation is rarely neat. It’s messy, iterative, and full of “what ifs.”
Behind every Autobrush lies years of testing, tweaking, and late-night brainstorms that led us closer to perfection.
From our founder, Chris Lander:
“From V1 to V4, it’s been a process of dialing things in... starting with a basic, weak motor and evolving to a more powerful, waterproof design. We’ve always focused on making better versions of what we’ve already built, addressing pain points from each run. Each iteration gets us closer to solving more and more.”
Every brush head we’ve launched tells a story, one of listening, learning, and constantly improving.
Listening, Learning, and Evolving
When we first launched, we started with a single-sided nylon brush head: a practical, effective first step as we perfected our U-shape and bristle technology.
Chris recalls:
“It wasn’t just a simple decision of ‘let’s make a double-sided one.’ There were technical aspects that made it more complex than it seemed. The single-sided version was a starting point while we perfected the U-shape and nylon bristle technology.”
Soon after, we introduced our double-sided brush head, doubling coverage for a faster, deeper clean.
“As we grew, we transitioned to the double-sided, ADA-accepted version, which delivers an even better experience,” Chris says.
“But we still have customers who prefer the single-sided head, and we continue to improve it just the same.”
Our newest innovation, the GumDefend™ brush head, takes oral care a step further with an added row of silicone bristles designed to massage gums, improve circulation, and reduce sensitivity.
“We added a 4th row of silicone bristles above our nylon ones to massage, stimulate, and clean the gums in a non-abrasive way,” Chris explains.
“This idea came from our master crafter, Dr. Gibbz, our resident mad scientist, who’s always tinkering and improving our designs.”
Milestones that Matter
- Over 7 years, we’ve achieved milestones that remind us why we do what we do:
- 30,000+ reviews with a 4.7-star average
- 5 clinical trials (4 completed, 1 ongoing)
- ADA Seal of Acceptance
- The Knockoff Exchange Program, offering free authentic Autobrushes to customers who purchased knockoffs in the past
- A community-driven design process, where real user feedback shaped every new feature
Behind every number is a real person who took a chance on us, and that’s what we’re most proud of.
Powered by People, Fueled by Passion
Our story isn’t just about technology, it’s about people.
From parents making bedtime routines easier to adults reclaiming their oral health, you are the reason Autobrush exists.
And behind the brand? A team that’s been here since day one, like Cori, our Head of Growth, who’s been part of the vision for nine years (even before Autobrush was Autobrush).
“Seven years. A lot of milestones,” says Chris.
“But the real win is the community we’ve built. Every product, every innovation, every win is powered by the people who believed in what we’re doing - our team, our customers, and our partners.
This isn’t just about what we’ve achieved, it’s about what we’ve created together.”
Looking Ahead
Our mission hasn’t changed: to make oral care simple, effective, and accessible to all.
The next seven years? They’ll be even bolder.
Because when innovation meets passion, the results speak for themselves. One clean, confident smile at a time.
